Nehalem Bay, Tillamook Bay and many other north Oregon coast and Portland area rivers.
A happy client hoists a hefty 35 pound fall
Chinook salmon at Nehalem Bay in August of 2005. This is a relaxing and
rewarding ocean bay fishery with calm waters. Nehalem Bay provides excellent
opportunity for fall Chinook salmon and Coho salmon July through November
and also great crabbing year-round.
Above a client reels a large sturgeon to the
boat after a long and exciting battle in the scenic Columbia River Gorge. There's nothing quite like
the thrill of a 9
foot white sturgeon jumping completely out of the water while at the end of your
line. Hang on to that pole!

Chinook Salmon
Of the five species of Pacific salmon, the Chinook and Coho are the most
important to anglers. The two are often found in the same waters and pursued
in much the same way, but the Chinook is the larger of the two and highly
prized among anglers. When hooked, Chinook like to slug it out, while Coho's
are acrobatic and quick. Chinook are also known as King Salmon.
Chinook are
powerful swimmers that migrate hundreds of miles up northwest rivers to
their spawning grounds, and they can grow huge. The rod-and-reel world
record was taken in Alaska's Kenai River in 1985 and weighed 97 pounds, 4
ounces. Most fish caught by northwest anglers, however, range from 15 to 40
pounds. At the end of a fishing line, Chinooks are absolute brutes -
hard-running, stubborn fighters that will give you all the challenge you can
handle, and sometimes more.

Sturgeon
Oregon is lucky to have the white sturgeon swim in our waters. They are an
amazing fish to catch, but also wonderful to eat.
It takes a bit of muscle to handle the large
oversize sturgeon that swim in the waters of Columbia River and Willamette River.
Sore arms can be
expected following a day of reeling in these prehistoric monster fish.
Northwest white sturgeon can grow in excess of 14 feet
long and sometimes weigh over 300 pounds. These trips are customized to the
size of fish you would prefer to catch, legal size (42-60 inches) or
oversized (60 inches plus).
This is
truly a world-class fishery in itself.
Dungeness Crab
Dungeness Crab are the west coast's finest eating seafood, hands down. These
trips are 4 hours in duration and based on the high tide of the day. We set
crab rings in a line in the bay and pull them every 20 minutes.
The limit is 12
male crab (min 5¾ inches) per person. An Oregon shellfish licenses is
required ($8.00). These trips are extremely active and are wonderful for
families, especially after a bountiful day of salmon fishing.
